Many people have heard of the Lord Jesus Christ, but probably don’t know much about the details of His life spent on earth. He is “the” most important person to ever walk this earth. Your relationship with Him determines your eternal future.
Those who know Him and have accepted Him as Lord and Savior will spend eternity with Him. They will rule and reign with Him in His kingdom. His kingdom is not like this world. In His kingdom a lamb will lie down beside a lion and the lion will not harm it. There will be love, peace, joy, perfect health, and happiness.
Do you know Him or more importantly, does He know you?
In this day and age there are many people who claim that they know Jesus Christ. The vast majority of Americans describe themselves as being Christian, but by witnessing their lives, it is obvious that they don’t really know Him and He does not know them. The Bible states that in the end, many will come to Him saying, “Lord, Lord”, and tell of all of their good works, etc., but He will tell them to depart into eternal damnation because He never knew them. This is very scary and shows that salvation is something that no one should take lightly.
In order to be saved, one must first understand that he is a sinner by nature. We all have the sin nature in us from Adam and Eve’s disobedience to God in the Garden of Eden. No matter what we do, we can not be righteous or clean of our own. However, God did not leave the human race hopeless. He provided a means for us to be reconciled back to Him. Before man sinned, God walked with him and fellowshipped with him face to face. But now since God is completely holy, man in his sinful state can not stand in His full presence. God promised a Saviour to come to take away the sin of man forever, but in the mean time God’s requirement of covering sin for Adam and Eve was in the form of a blood sacrifice of an animal. Sin is so bad it required the death of an animal. The Bible says that without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin. That shows you how terrible sin is. It’s very, very bad. For thousands of years God’s people sacrificed animals for the covering of sin. That all ended when Jesus Christ of Nazareth was crucified on the cross and He said, “It is finished”. Jesus Christ, the lamb of God was that blood sacrifice that takes away the sin of man forever. To be saved from this sin nature and to be born-again in Christ Jesus is a gift of grace from God. We must receive what He did on the cross as the sacrifice for our own sin nature. When this truly happens a person is born-again and has a hatred for sin and ungodliness. That person does not participate in evil or ungodliness and wants to please God with all of his heart. That person is in this world, but not of it.
The Rapture of the Church is the beginning of God’s total destruction of sin. The Lord Jesus Christ is coming down to the sky to rapture (catch up) those who are born-again in Him. We will be with Him in heaven for seven years while the great tribulation is happening on earth. Then, we will return to earth with Jesus to rule and reign with Him for 1000 years. After the 1000 years are up, Satan will be let loose one last time to round up all sin and wickedness for once and for all. God will quickly destroy the uprising started by the devil and cast him into the lake of fire to burn forever. All of the wicked and evil people who ever lived will be cast into the lake of fire forever. They will never hurt anyone else ever again. Those who love God we will be totally reconciled to God and commune with Him just as Adam did in the beginning. We will fellowship with God in complete happiness forever and ever.
This is basically what the Bible is about. It’s about God creating man in His image, man sinning and corrupting himself and earth by disobeying God and obeying Satan, and God redeeming man back to Himself. In those thousands of years there have been many twists and turns, many saints of God, and many evildoers. But in the end God and His people win. The place we are in the “story” now is nearing the end before He calls his born-again saints up to meet Him in the air, the clouds. If you don’t know Him, I encourage you to get to know Him so that He will know you. #1 Acknowledge the fact that you are a sinner and need God’s salvation, by confessing & asking for forgiveness for your sins. #2 Accept what Jesus did on the cross as sacrifice for your sin. #3 Live for Him everyday, study and learn His ways by reading the Bible. Tell others about Him; fellowship and support fellow Christians. Look for Him coming back for us soon!!! Even so come Lord Jesus!
